I partner with innovative thinkers who are committed to working toward a liberatory world.
I earned my PhD in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2022. I have extensive critical qualitative research and evaluation training and am skilled in project and data management.
“I can say without hesitation that Rachel is one of the most outstanding colleagues I have ever encountered. Her intelligence, integrity, and passion for social justice were evident in every project she touched. Rachel approaches her work with both a scholar’s rigor and an activist’s heart—always striving not only for analytic clarity but for transformative impact.”
— Dr. Monique Liston, Founder of UBUNTU Research & Evaluation
I am committed to equity in education. I champion practices that center the experiences of marginalized people. My service on family-engagement teams has been instrumental to my learning how to effectively communicate, collaborate, and advocate with other families, community members, school staff, and district leaders.
Rachel served as an executive committee member of the African American Parent Leadership Council in Madison, Wisconsin. Rachel (Mama Rae) facilitated a range of art. health, and Black studies lessons at Freedom Kilombo.
As a mother, I am passionate about reimagining out-of-school educational spaces for young people. I co-created Freedom Kilombo, a Black-centered homeschooling collective in Wisconsin and spent six years homeschooling in the U.S. and abroad. I am dedicated to supporting young people and their families in education, whether at school, home, or in community.
“Rachel has been a guide to me on my journey as a first year homeschool parent. She has shared her experience with me and answered all of my questions. She has included me in homeschool social media communities that offer multitudes of educational resources and she continues to make herself available to myself and other parents in the community. After being connected with Rachel the decision was made swiftly due to being empowered and feeling like I was not on the journey alone.”
